The method I am using does not use a .msi file, instead I use the shutdown script section of group policy to point to a batch file created by the AVG Network Install wizard.

HSRP is a great feature that can help improve your networks layer 3 redundancy. Like most features you have to be careful not to leave it with only the basic configuration. You should aim to secure as many features as possible.
This post will outline the configuration required to secure your HSRP configuration on a Cisco device.
So why should we secure HSRP? With no security in place an attacker could plug a device into your network and with very little effort they could match your HSRP configuration and give their device a higher priority. This would mean they could intercept and capture your network traffic.
